Spalding: The Writing Road To Reading *****
I LOVE this program! It's the most comprehensive and thorough phonics program I have ever seen. It not only teaches phonics, but also spelling and manuscript handwriting. It takes a little bit of effort to become familiar with the program, but worth the time. It is by far the best foundation available to give your child the necessary reading and writing skills.

Happy Phonics *****
Happy Phonics is similar to the approach of Spalding, but is easier to pick up and use right away. The woman who wrote the program, Diane Hopkins, is a veteran homeschool mom who has spent years in the trenches and knows what works.
